Welcome to Trinity Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten!
We are very proud of our school and we take pride in being able to offer not only a developmentally appropriate curriculum to our children, but the love of Jesus too.
We use the Core Knowledge preschool sequence to teach the children literacy, math, science, art and music. We also teach them about Jesus through our daily “Jesus Time” and through chapel on Wednesday mornings.
Trinity Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten has been Teaching a Loving Christ in a Caring Community since 1983. The original childcare center was housed in the church’s Parish hall and it was licensed for 45 children. The childcare center quickly grew and the church board voted to approve having an addition built on to the current building. Pastor Larry Miller formally dedicated the new additional space on March 1, 1992.
During that time, what began as a childcare center has continued to grow and serve the community of Douglas County. Over the years, we have not only given the children of the community an educational foundation, but we have also given those children a Christian foundation. Pastor John is actively involved with our school as well.
In 1999, the Childcare Board approved adding a licensed Kindergarten to the school. In 2013, the school was accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children. Our name was eventually changed from Trinity Lutheran Childcare center to Trinity Lutheran Preschool & Kindergarten.
We are licensed for 150 children with 20 teachers on staff who are highly qualified professionals. All of our teachers have early childhood education and child development backgrounds. The teachers in our school have either completed education degrees or are working hard toward that goal. Our Kindergarten teacher is professionally licensed by the State of Nevada. All of our staff members have completed childcare training required by the State of Nevada and each teacher also participates in continuing education classes.
We look forward to meeting your family. Please call or stop by if you have questions or if you would like a tour of our school.
